Live in Boston 1979

This is another Mr. Monopoly commission.

Mr. Monopoly remembers making sixty gajillion thumbnails of the work in progress for the fan who commissioned it, although it was probably a lot fewer than that. This really worked to the finished piece's benefit, as the trader's input was very valuable and, in places, his desires very specific. A model, Ana Hickman, was settled on and three images chosen by the fan, and a back cover which, if Mr. Monopoly recalls correctly, came from one of the tour books. The commission called for "girl on the front, band on the back."

There are actually two versions of the front cover. The trader chose to have the front cover with the words "Live in Boston 1979" underneath the words "Roxy Music." This never looked right, nor felt right, to Mr. Monopoly, who preferred to simply have the band's name, as per the design of the original five LPs. So if you have this CD in your collection, you can tell whether the artwork came down the vine from the fellow who commissioned it, or from the artist.
